Is BF3 really that bad?

The Amazon reviews are terrible, with origin and overall web-interface bugs.

But I just built my system and didn't realize the issues until after. Pretty standard rig: Z68, 2500k@4.4, 6950, SSD, etc.

I'm playing Skyrim now and love it but want a multiplayer FPS too. Does the fun gameplay overcome the interface? Is it really that buggy? Thanks.

my BF3 folder is 14.8GB, and it'll grow with DLC, the last patch which was patch + Karkand was 3GB assume 33:66 split then i'd suggest about 2GB per lump of content.

I've been kicked out of maybe 1% of games, its not something that I remember often enough to be even a niggle.
Hit detection seems ok to me, i've had people i've been playing with complain about it, I just assume i missed, I miss about as often as I'd expect to.
Origin, who knows, they claim they can withdraw it with 30days notice, but if steam decided to stop/went under the same woudl happen. There is some talk of it scanning files, but I've read (from EA) that its windows doing the scanning, but then origin would have to ask it to. You have to ask the question why would...
I personally (touch wood) have had no problems at all. The clan I play with, about 50% of them have issues, at the moment punk buster appears to be an issue.
One had an issue as he was trying to be 'clever' and put his swap file on a ram disk, and had a heavy OC.
The web interface is fine in my opinion, I have no issues with it, in fact using the web interface a new instance of the game is launched every time, this to my mind is a good thing.
Can you post some examples as I might be able to rebuff them and make you more comfortable.

I love the game but hate the setup. If you can overlook minor NON-IN-GAME flaws.... then it's great... if you get pissed off way too easily... then this isn't what you need.

Personally the game itself is incredible.
Always fast paced and 32v32 is amazing.

By far one of my top choices in shooters.

Unbelievable game, just a shame EA shot themselves in the foot with origin trying to be too greedy.

If you want a good FPS, then i'd suggest getting it. A friend of mine got MW3 and didn't like it at all, said it felt and looked the same as MW2- i'd suggest BF3 and then wait on the new counter strike.

I've read that it kicks you out of games frequently and that it'll take 4 or 5 tries before you get into a match that goes the entire length. I've heard hit detection can be hit-and-miss too (sry, I had to).

And that Origin is mega-spyware.

Side question, is 20g enough space?

You have to ask the question why would EA make it a big lump of spyware, whats in it for them. If you don't like it, don't play.
