[SOLVED] Is bios update always recommended and safe?

I haven’t had any problems with my Prime H270-plus. My bios currently showing firmware 2016. And last time I checked, there was the bios firmware 2018 available. I read some stuff online that updating bios, especially updating wrong bios can cause problems to your motherboard. I just thought I ask you guys to see if it’s recommended and safe to update my bios.

I only update my BIOS when necessary and I would recommend that to you as well.

Then I say....leave it alone. You don't want to risk causing yourself problems.

Probably the most common reason would be if you were to upgrade your CPU.
However sometimes you don't need to update the BIOS to do this.

Another reason would be...lets say....your BIOS wasn't recognizing a drive.....a BIOS update might fix that.

Or sometimes BIOS updates have new features....and if you want those features....you need to update.

etc etc

but if you are running good.....I recommend leaving it be.

You can cause yourself problems by updating a BIOS.
