Sorry guys if I placed this on the wrong category. Is it scary to build a PC? It's because there's no support to call or email when something goes wrong in your computer. Your on your own in other words.

It's scary if you can't afford to replace parts and get stuck. If you plan ahead and budget well (both in time and in money) it should be pretty straight forward and very rewarding! Remember, only through risk do you yield reward. You miss 100% of the shots you do NOT take. So, go for it! Failure is the highway to success; be willing to fail and you overcome that fear and pave the way to succeeding. Of course plan ahead the best you can but allowing yourself to make mistakes is how you learn. We all of course want to avoid mistakes but you can't let paralysis through over analysis keep you from trying new things; allow yourself joys in life and just do it!

You still have manufacturer support on most, if not all, of your components, and if you get a non-OEM license, you get Windows support as well. So for at least the first year, no, you're not on your own.

As for actual assembly, it's more tedious than anything else. Anyone with a phillips head screwdriver and the ability to follow directions can put together a computer.
