Is buying Windows 8.1 from Reddit safe?

I was wondering if buying Windows 8.1 from Reddit for like $20 is legit. Is that even llegal? I am tempted to buy it (with Amazon gift cards of course) unless I know this is a scam. How does this work, does anybody know?

Almost certainly a scam/crime of some sort. Theories I've heard include MSDN keys, selling the same key several times, and money laundering for organised crime. There's significant evidence that the latter is correct for a lot of game keys; I'd imagine Windows too.
