is canon powershot g6 compatible with windows 7

unable to download images. have canon powershot g6 with windows 7. tried both pc and laptop. msg says usb device malfunctioned and windows does not recongize

Maybe a bad USB on the camera. Try just taking out the card and using a card reader.

... or try different USB cable, USB port, and/or computer. Try to find out the original Canon USB cable (they used to make them pretty good).
