I plan to build an AMD system. I tend to keep my systems for many years and upgrade components over time.

The initial build I'm planning is a B550 MoBo, Ryzen 3 3200G and 16GB of RAM.

I don't do any gaming but my kids do and they will probably inherit the system in the next year or so. At that time I would upgrade to an RTX graphics card and a Ryzen 5 or 7 CPU.

So, is it worth spending and extra $30 now for RAM with a CAS of 14?

These are the two I'm looking at:
G.SKILL Flare X DDR4 3200 $65
G.SKILL Flare X DDR4 2933 $98

I'm still researching all the AMD RAM subtleties for overclocking, etc.

If I want to spend an extra $30 should I get 3600 speed with the future in mind?

Solution
3200 MHz should suffice for the years to come, it is commonly regarded as the sweet spot for gaming. CAS Latency doesn't have a great impact on gaming, so don't worry about that. Definitely go with the first one listed. Here is a video explaining RAM speeds.
