Question Is Chrome bookmark backup to local drive or Google account?

I'd like to have my system clean reinstalled, I'd like to know if the saved password, bookmarks and cache could be saved to Google account? and how? Is it saved automatically already?

When you login to to your Google Account from Chrome, you can choose whether to sync data or not. I don't think you can sync cache, though
