Question Is coil whine common?

I bought a video card a few months back and thought everything was fine until I recently decided to swap my case for a more free flow chassis. Well now I realized that my video card has coil whine. I was able to reduce some of the noise by turning on vsync for games however it is still there.

I guess what I'm wondering is coil whine really common? Or did I get some bad luck?
