Is Corsair - Vengeance RGB Pro compatible with Asus - Prime X470-Pro?
If so to what extent?
Basic functionality?
RGB Controls through the board?

I have read this:
https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/SocketAM4/PRIME_X470-PRO/PRIME_X470-PRO_Devices_report.pdf
And it points out the non-pro version of the product and says that it is compatible with not only the board and aura sync with the latest BIOS revision.

My plan is to have an RGB setup where I can use the asus aura sync react to music for comedic value at private lan events. I would like solid answers only ideally. If you can/have done it with these parts, a video showing that it worked would be appreciated.

Thank you.

It'll work, it was Gigabyte's software that you'd need to worry about. MSI have ironed out their kinks and Corsair have learned that leaving their RGB ecosystem out of the board's apps support hampered their purchases which is why you saw most jump for G.Skill kits. Speaking of which, why not pick G.Skill kits? They are better binned and the illumination is more subtle.

The specs of the board and CPU (Ryzen 5 1600) won't allow for anything above 2666MHz w/o OCing. It was either 4 sticks of 3000MHz Trident or 4 sticks of 2666MHz Corsair for £110 less. Seemed like I may as well save the £110 if I could. Thanks for the reply. I'll hang around a bit incase someone has a video to show it. (This is my first time building a rig without buying any second hand parts so I am being very careful)

I'm in the process of making a new rig for a girl I know and she focuses on aesthetics and that's why "hello RGB". I've been fighting over this for months now - how to make one software control as much as possible from the rig's illumination. No matter what I've read "vengeance rgb PRO" do NOT seem to work with ASUS AURA.

Some people in the forums say they do, but most of the times are people who confuse the non-PRO version (which actually is supported) with the PRO. Many buyers out there do not know what they're actually buying. Now this reply on this forum - epsecially from a moderator - seems promising.

But as the OP mentioned, I too am being very careful so I need to witness first hand, preferably through a video that the PRO version DOES work with ASUS Aura (Sync).

Thanks in advance!
