Is data transfer speed better with SSD caddy vs USB external disk?

The goal is to transfer files from SSD to external disk via caddy or USB2

Additionally, will the idle drive in the caddy drain my battery, can I turn it off and only turn on when I need to access the drive?

So 2 questions basicall:

1. How fast is data transfer with SSD caddies
2. Can I turn the extra drive on and off

Which "Cady" and which connection to it ?
SSDs are quite fast so any interface except SATA3 will be a bottleneck.

If you are asking if a ssd will be faster then a normal HDD via usb2.0 then there not a huge difference in it the usb2.0 port will bottleneck both of them

I'm asking if the data between SSD and HHD in the caddy compartment will be as fast as SSD to HHD via USB2 cable
