hey guys,
first conroe build here, iam having some trouble understanding the multiplier for the ram on on a ga-965p-ds3. if i get ddr 667 i should be a ble too keep going with my f.s.b until i hit a wall, drop the ram too 133 and keep going again right? its my understanding it runs at a 166 mhz bus quad pumped too 667. thanks.

thanx prozac,
I managed to get one stick of gskill ddr2 800mhz ram with the combo, so i have no dual channel. its to bad to cause it is nice stuff with 4.4.4.12 timings. the only place i could find another stick is on new egg and they won't ship too canada. i have been able to o.c my conroe e6600 to a 440 mhz f.s.b with stock voltage and intel heatsink so i think i will wait till my new swiftech waterblock comes to go any further. now i just gotta find one more stick of this gskill or buy a new 2gig kit.

In Sisoft Sandra, here are my scores

4-4-4-12 @ 443 mhz = 7677
5-5-5-15 @ 442 mhz = 7534

And my 3dmark scores are 30 points apart.

So for $50 bux, its not worth it. Yer better of spending $50 bux on your next video card.
