i have a desktop lenovo m92p sff.
currently installed is Kingston 4gb 1rx8 ddr3 pc3 12800u 1.5 kvr16n11s8/4 along with Samsung 2gb 12800u.
i plan to remove the 2gb and want to buy 8gb ddr3 1600mhz. (used or machine pulled)

i have been offered Kingston /gb 2rx8 pc3l 12800e-11-12-e3 kvr16le11/8kf 1.35v

should i mix them and use in a desktop or go fo samsung or sk hnix instead which will be 8gb 12800u 1.5v

what is ur view and suggestion

One is ECC and the other isn't, please don't mix and match those sticks of ram. You're going to see performance uplift when working with a matched set/ram kit.

If you must look for a ram upgrade, look for a 4x8GB DDR3-1600MHz 1.5v ram kit or pick up two 2x8GB DDR3-1600MHz 1.5v kit. As for the voltage, you can look at rams that are rated to run at 1.65v without an issue. Just don't look at ram that are 1.8v or higher, those were the ram kits when DDR3 was just new to the scene.

currently my Lenovo desktop , have i3-3rd gen processor and 512 adata SSD, 4gb single stick Kingston 1600mhz 12800u and 2gb sing stick samsung 1600mhz 12800u. both are 1rx8

unfortunately, buying a new or 16 gb ram doesn't make sense for this desktop, as i dont have GPU and use it for regular usage at home. so buying 8gb will have 14gb ram in total otherwise will keep 12gb in ram, if any issue with other ram slots of the motherboard.

i planning to buy another used dell or hp sff with 8th gen, for that i will have 16gb ddr 4 ram.
