I'm also looking at HP ZR 27 and ZR 30 and don't really know which one would be better in terms of gaming and movie experience.

Any idea? I personally think U3014 is a little high priced though

The HP ones will be better for PC gaming due to their lack of a scaler. This reduces latency. Get the Dell if you want to plug something like a game console into it.

You are comparing GTG numbers with BTB numbers. GTG numbers are always lower than BTB numbers. The Dell U3014 has 6ms GTG. This is a business product, so they publish both numbers. Most crappy consumer grade monitors only publish the GTG number but don't identify it. I have been using a Dell U2711 for gaming for years and never noticed any ill effects.

Point well taken. I would "suffer" with any 2560X1600 @7ms, but they cost the same as my rig.:)

Cheap TN panels which advertise super low response times are using Response Time Compensation to be able to make better looking numbers without actually improving the experience.

In other words, you can't compare the numbers for high-end IPS panels to the numbers for cheap consumer grade TN panels. It is likely that panels that ur6beersaway tried with >5ms response times were actually much slower and using RTC to get the numbers down.

Out of these monitors: HP ZR27, Hp ZR30, Dell U3014, Dell U3013, Dell 2913, Dell 2713, which one would be the best.
