Question Is dp to dvi 144hz a myth?

Hi! I've been looking for some dp to dvi adapter to play 144hz as I heard in this forum you can, but all I've seen, even having a resolution 2560x1600, seems fake and unavailable to get more than 1080p 60hz. And some comments on +100$ active adaptors I found say also those cannot get 144hz. So is there anybody who had a good xperience with som dp dvi adapter and got 1080p 144hz?

No, it is not a myth.

You need an active adapter that runs DisplayPort to Dual-Link DVI.
Plenty mislabeled adapters out there that are not Dual-Link etc.
