Is duel channel worth it?

I'm getting 2x4gb ram but some people are saying to get 1x8gb for later upgrade. But I won't be upgrading for a year or so. Is duel channel worth it?

Depends oin your rig and what you are doing - dual channel can provide a boost up to about 10% or more, depending. As far as 1x8GB - it offers no guarantees as to an upgrade path as even if you get an identical stick of the same exact model there's no guarantees the new will play with your old stick.
