Is electrical tape safe enough to insulate the wires of a PC power button?

I am using a power button from Amazon which has screws to connect the PC front panel connectors from the motherboard to the button. I have stripped some of the wires from the switch that turns the PC on since I don't want to use it. I can easily connect the other button but I am worried that the uncovered wires might short or something. I don't have any heat shrink wrap but I was wondering if electrical tape or just tape in general would work? If I use electrical tape would I have to use a lighter on it or can I just wrap the tape around the wires? Are they fine on their own as long as no one touches them?

Electrical tape would probably work, and is kind of stretchy, so you can pull it tight around the wires you are covering. I don't think using a lighter with it would be a good idea though. That's more for heat shrink tubing. Covering the parts with a dab of hot glue might be another option.

As for leaving them exposed, it might also be fine if they're out of the way and not touching anything. The power switch just connects a low voltage circuit to indicate to the motherboard when it should power on or off the computer.

What uncovered wires, where, exactly.
A pic of this might help.
