Is everything in my build compatible?

So here's my build:
i5 4690k
8gb-kit crucial ballistix sport series ddr3
MSI r9 390 8gb
ASUS B85M-G motherboard
Cooler master n300 tower case
Xilence XP600 performance C 600 watt
Toshiba DT01ACA series 1TB SATA 6gb/s
TP link network card

So will everything fit in the motherboard PCI slots and work together?
Will the r9 390 get to hot or require more PSU power? Is the gtx 970 a wiser option?

Generally it is but you are using the cheapest quality motherboard with an unlocked processor. You need to go for a Z97 motherboard model.

Yes everything is fine. You dont need to go with Z motherboard if you dont wanna overclock, or you can just go with normal 4690 non K version, you will save some money.

So in you're opinion would getting a locked version be more worth it than downgrading the cpu and getting a better motherboard? I could downgrade to the gtx 960 4gb or r9 380

Why would you want to downgrade your GPU to 960 or 380? You will save 20€ by going with non K version. You already have motherboard that dont support overclocking so why paying extra, for exact same performance just because it's "unlocked" but you wont be able to overclock it anyway? 😀

With that extra 20€ that you will save from CPU by going with non K version, i would invest in better PSU. Stick with corsair, evga, xfx, bequiet, seasonic, cooler master, lepa, enermax, superflower and be sure that it's atleast 80+ bronze

Ok I'm going with the corsair VS series 650w bronze 80+ Are you sure it's worth it are there any other downsides to having a cheap motherboard if you aren't overclocking?

ok that's better! No, there's no difference in performance between a mobo for 80€ or 400€. It all comes down to the number of pci-e slots, ram slots, max supported number of graphics cards in Sli/Crossfire, number of sata and usb ports, hdmi and optical output on motherboard for integrated graphics etc. That what's cost money. If you dont planning to overclock and you will have 1 graphics card and 2 sticks of ram you can easily go with cheap motherboards like H81,B85 H87
