Is fx8350 bottle necking my GTX 970 FTW

I'm not getting the performance expected from my new GPU. A example is when I run a game like bio shock I have well over 100 fps and my GPU usage is 90-100%. As soon as I get into combat or a large area my GPU usage drops and my fps does so too. I tried changing to the settings from ultra to very low and same results show.

There could definitely be a CPU bottleneck by an 8350 in games that don't support a lot of threads (as indicated by less than 100% GPU useage)
If you haven't overlclocked your 8350 yet, I'd recommend it as long as you have an aftermarket heatsink. That would help to reduce the CPU bottleneck

Jumping to an i5 will also require a new motherboard. You may want to start with trying to overclock if you have an aftermarket cooler.
