Question Is G.Skill Ripjaws 2x8gb 3200mhz compatible with H110m-dvs R2.0 motherboard?

Hello there.
I am just wondering, will G.Skill RipJaws DDR4 2x8gb 3200mhz (F4-3200C16D-16vkb) run fine on my H110M-DVS R2.0 motherboard as long as I downclock the memory on 2133mhz?
I do not want to burn anything in the process. Will the system run smooth and stable? I am using Skylake I5-6500 CPU

It may or may not run , if it does you are correct , it will run at 2133 by DEFAULT.

G.Skill does not declare compatibility on that memory, but you should be fine with it at the 2133.

All ram will have a default basic speed so you can enter the bios and, if your motherboard supports it, set XMP to a higher speed.

You should be OK, but Why spend more on ram that is faster than what you can use?

He may not necessarily be spending more on it....flash sale to bring down inventory, sale from a buddy, came in another system that is good for parts, only thing he can get his hands on right now.

(Well that last on is spending more, but for the sake of immediate utilization.)

It is actually cheaper (I got a good offer) to buy that than 16GB of 2133mhz memory. I am upgrading the motherboard in next 3 years but until that I want to use "upgraded" RAM

Should work and will default to 2133 because of the boards chipset.

Who knows what will come in 3 years.
But, since you are getting a better deal on the ram now, go ahead.
Intel processors do not depend much on fast ram.

Quite the converse.
3200 speed ram is ram that is better binned and can be overclocked from the stock voltage to run at a higher speed.
If anything, 3200 speed ram running at stock voltage should have a better life expectancy.
Not really an issue since the ram will have a lifetime warranty.

Also I have found out an interesting speed differences: (all applies to already mentioned Ripjaws 2x8 3200mhz RAM)
User benchmark says that this model runs actually around 40%! faster on 1667 (around 1600) mhz than on 2133mhz. What is the cause of that? Shouldnt be the same RAM running at higher speeds faster?

That is pretty much the same for all RAMs (as shown on User Benchmark), RAM will perform the worst on 2133mhz frequency even compared to the same stick running on lower freq. like 1600mhz or 1200mhz. I just dont get that.

It depends on if you are considering single channel operation or dual channel operation.
The 1600 speed you saw was really 3200 speed running in dual channel. Results is only marginally faster.

1. You can expect it to run.
2. With dedicated graphics, not much difference from dual channel.
3. Modest negative impact if running integrated graphics.
4. Possible incompatibility if more ram is added later.

Lets compare it to Crucial CT8G4DFD8213, 8 GB (DDR4, 2133 MT/s, PC4-17000, Single or dual Rank x8, DIMM 288-Pin, discontinued) Memory, or something similar, running in a single channel at 2133mhz.
