Question Is gaming harmful for pc

Hi! I have an old HP pavilion g6 netbook released around 2011 which is used for simple tasks like working on ms office. My question is will playing games like gta vc or gta sa harm its hdd or ram in any way ? I believe it wont but i want to be sure because once my hard drive was affected inversly (pc failed to boot) for playing a game, though my pc met all the requirements for that.

For a game damaging a PC part no and a game did nothing to your hard drive.
Drives fail it just happens.

Thanks for your insight. I believe that the error of disk wasn't caused for gaming, but the technician who fixed my computer tild me that it was the game that caused hard drive failure.

That tech is lying to you, I agree do not go to him again. That or he is just grossly incompetent.

Well, when we play game, pc continuously load diffrrnt contents of the game from the drive. Doesnt it increase disk usage or put the drive under stress?

Gaming doesn't kill the drive more than any other use.
