We're going to need a little more info than one sentence. When posting a thread of troubleshooting nature, it's customary to include your full system's specs. Please list the specs to your build like so:

CPU cooler:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:

PSU:
Chassis:
OS:
Monitor:
include the age of the PSU apart from it's make and model. BIOS version for your motherboard at this moment of time.

Please include the make and mode of the PSU you'd swapped in and it's age as well.

That doesn't seem like a good thing. Disconnect from the system and visually inspect the GPU for anything that was burned or melted and later try and narrow down the source of the smell(without sniffing the card), you should be able to tell where the smell's coming from(a general area).
