Question Is gtx 1070 compatible/best for my Z87 motherboard?

What is the best compatible Nividia GPU I can upgrade to for cheap, I'm currently using a 660ti and it just can't run new games anymore hoping the gtx 1070 might be the solution that will get me through another 5 years?

What's the exact PSU? "650W" isn't that useful as there are excellent 650W PSUs that you can run anything short of a 3080 on and garbage 650W PSUs that shouldn't be connected to a salami sandwich.

Depending on the game they may run poorly on your cpu, if that’s the case then a gpu upgrade may not help or have limited benefit. I had that same cpu in a pc 4 years ago and it was starting to struggle then.

1070 is still a good card but... you sure can't really get a newer GPU?
Depending on where you live it can be more expensive or no price difference at all, check prices of newer cards in your country if there's a little price difference between let's say an RX 6600 and a GTX 1070, obvious choice is the 6600.

The PSU is safe to use with a 1070. If you can get it inexpensively, it's a good fit for the CPU. Though do keep in consideration that both the CPU/GPU are fairly long in the tooth at this point.
