Is GTX 670 SLI enough for 4K monitor?

I currently have 2 Gigabyte GTX 670 OC 2Gig cards in SLI. I'm thinking about selling them and upgrading to a single 780 with the plan of SLI'ing it in the future like I did the 670. My main concern is if the 670's are enough to go 4K with? I currently use triple monitors (5760x1080) and only a few games give me less than 40-45 fps maxed out.

My main concern is the 2 Gb memory limit, but since the 780 only has 3 Gigs of VRAM, would it be better to get two 770 4 gig models right off the bat?

3x 1080p to 4K is only about a 25% increase in pixels, wont be that big a hit.

770's are just 670's in disguise, no point in moving to them even for the 4GB. 3GB is more than enough for 4K, if you have the cash for two 780's that would work the best, 780's start to pull far ahead of the last gen cards at higher resolutions.

1920 x 1080 = 2,073,600

4096 x 2160 = 8,847,360

That is over a 400% increase in pixels. 1080 has 25% the pixels that 4k has.

Yea and 3 1080p monitors like the OP has is 75% the pixels of 4K...
