hello tomshardware i read that the 900 series of nvidia especially gtx 960 are bad for directx12 is that true? will ise bad framerate on dx12 games? what does that mean? i just bought that card...
The 900 series from nvidia doesnt support async computing and driver cannot fix what an hardware can do!! same with physicx hardware amd can only emulate it which causing lower performance and low fps at particular scenes. But in saying that a gtx980ti suffers at dx12, look at Hitman and gears of war, as for ash demo or not its already proven that the 900 series means the maxwel chips fail at deliver the performance needed in dx12. Bear in mind also if we are getting ports from xbox one directly to windows 10 most of the games will use async and that will make the maxwel cripple to its toes>
900 series cards were built around directX 12 in a sense. So no 900 series is not bad for DX12. Also for the only DX12 game "ash's" is a bs bench thus far. The game isnt finished, its made for the gcn architecture that amd has and not for nvidia. This has been proven over and over again. DX12 has no official running games that take full affect of it so NO ONE knows anything other than what they have heard right now. IGNORE anyone who brings up the amd beating nvidia in dx12 so far because there is not a game built in dx12 thats actually out yet.
i own a gtx960. i ain't banking on it to sail me across the ocean that's dx12. i have around 90 past-gen games of which 70 or more of it i haven't played with yet wherein my gtx960 will last a very long time. and besides, you'd still have dx11 support anyway.
