Is H80i High Fan Speed Necessary?

Hello,

I'm making this thread both for clarification purposes and to see if I can possibly change something. In my PC build, I have a Corsair H80i cooling an i5 4670k. Whenever I play games that are fairly demanding (Bioshock Infinite, Battlefield) the fans RPM increases, making them fairly loud. This makes sense, but I'm wondering if it's necessary as I haven't even overclocked my CPU yet (which I plan to do eventually...). Do the fans need to run at that RPM even though the CPU hasn't been overclocked yet? If not, can I change the RPM?

Any input would be appreciated.

Since you have the "i" model you can use Corsairs software called "Corsair Link" which you can use to monitor your temperatures and change fan speed onn the fans themselves.

When i got mine the rpm was pretty high, but i could run them at 1200rpm constantly with no issues for my fx-8350. Your cpu can handle a alot higher temperatures though, i bet 75c is pretty safe during load.
