Is Hardware T&L THAT Important?

Hello,

I am planning to do a LAN party. I have already downloaded the games on the computers. One of the games we are going to play is Need For Speed:Underground 2. While the game was installing, I decided to check the system requirements. According to Can You Run It the game would run on 2 of the computers and it did, but on 1 computer it wouldn't because its video card doesn't have Hardware T&L.

1. Is it important? Will it be a problem? And what is it?
2. I haven't tried the game yet, But I'll do it soon.
3.The Computers are three.

Solution
What GPU doesn't have this?

Fixed function hardware T&L support came with DX7 in 1999
nVidia has had it since Geforce 256 in 1999
ATI has had it since Radeon 7xxx in 2000
Even Intel stopped using their partial software solution and included hardware in G965's GMA X3000 in 2006.

It's far more likely that Can You RUN It's utility is just detecting it wrong. And unless you run a mod, the game doesn't use programmable shaders (which are what replaced T&L).
