I am going for an i5-3570K but is the 4670K worth it given I will also need a new motherboard? I can afford it just not sure if its worth the extra money.
I have a 3rd gen platform but I want a new MB anyway and it says in my signature. My budget is anything under £750 but at the same time I have to save up to be able to afford this so I don't want to be saving for motnhs to get the most powerful shit money can buy.
If I were you, I would get a 3570k and the best video card I could afford. At least a HD 7870 for around $149. Slap on a good aftermarket cooler and you've got one hell of a system. It would be a HUUUUUUUUUUGE upgrade over your i3 + 7750.
But if you want a new motherboard anyway, go ahead and get Haswell.

Not really. It makes too much sense for you to just get a 3570k for a little over $200 now than to buy a whole new platform for over $300 that will only be marginally better. If you have money to burn then go ahead. I would prefer to put that extra money into a video card.
