I currently have a sock cooler, and it idles around 26-30 degrees Celsius, and when I game it goes up to 55-60 degrees celcius and I was wondering if that is an okay temp for a cpu.
even 60 something is ok (as far as i know, i am not updated with the latest ones)
but i would not be comfortable if it hits the 70.
gpu's tend to be hotter though
Mid 50's is acceptable. 60C is on the high end, but liveable.
Low 50's will give you the longest cpu life.
Have you adjusted the cpu fan profile? If not, then make the cpu fan speed up a little more between 55 and 60 C
Even a 10-15% increase in fan speed can drop temps several degrees, and get you in the happy zone for FX series chips.
Tweak the case fan speeds a little to suit.
I have plenty of experience with the FX 6300. Idle temps are lying and load temps are accurate, even in core temp from what Ive found. As soon as it hits 67C your PC will freeze, or force a bluescreen on you.
