Is HDMI to DP able to output 240hz?

Hello,

I have a Acer Predator 1920x1080 240hz monitor. The monitor is able to output 240hz only with a DP cable. My laptop only has an HDMI port, so I was wondering if an adapter from HDMI to DP would work for the monitor to output 240hz?

There are no adapters available that will do that.
