Is home pre capiable of remote acess

I am on my desktop and i see that my laptop is connected to my network i can acess the folders and everything but it seems that i can not do a remote acess with the option that they give me

I am on window 7 home pre

like i also want to know is there a way to connect over the internet let say i am in school and i want to connect to my computer from far incase i forgot a file

Remoting into your laptop requires that you have a version of windows installed on the laptop that supports remote desktop and also that remote desktop is activated. Normally only the Pro version or higher of windows OS's support remote desktop.
