Hey guys, just building my new PC but when i checked the prices of i7 8700k , i5 8600k and the whole i9 series i noticed that it's out of my reach, but the max cpu that i can get for now is i5 8400 which i saw some benchmarks of it with GTX 1060 (6GB VRAM) and it looks to perform so good in current 2018 games and can handle them at 1080p, for me 60fps doesn't matter so much cause i can play with 30fps even and about resolution 1080p is enough, or sometimes even 900p in heavier games, so is this cpu i mean i5 8400 beside a GTX 1060 good for future games ? i don't expect 10-20 years which is impossible, just as much as a new console can handle, like 6-7 years.

Solution
As always, it's hard to predict future. How much 8400 will stay good for gaming depends on how better future CPUs will get. Right now I could bet it will be good for at least 2 years. I suppose it may be good for 3-4 years. 6-7 years is too long timeframe to even try any prediction.
