Is Idling At <50C Normal?

so I just checked my CPU temperatures (i5 4690k) and the temperature is just at 50 Celsius idle. idk why that's been happening. I tried applying new thermal compound and it went from like 60 to 50 so I guess that's pretty good. I do have a stock cooler. That could probably be the problem. Any solutions?

Idle temps don't matter too much as long as your load temps are under control. I wouldn't worry about it as long as you stay under 82-83C while gaming/rendering. Could be a lot of things: dust buildup on heatsink fins, dying fan, not enough case airflow, warm room, antivirus/virus running in background, internet browser running threads.

Mine are in the 30s so its a matter of comparison but this discussion can not take place w/ knowing ambient temps. If your CPU breaks 80C when running RoG Real bench, then its cause for concern. Run the 8 minute benchmark in RoG Real Bench and record core tempos and core voltages w/ HWiNFO
