Is Intel core good

I had settled for a Intel core i5 4460 for gaming but some people say there are cheaper cpus that are better. I am looking for a efficient CPU that is good for gaming and good with a Msi r9 380 4gb. Is i5 4460 good or should I choose another one

Well, no, cheaper is rarely better. This one is a really great CPU, it will outperform most AMD cpus, require less power, and will run every game. So it is good, however check the prices of the i5-4590, usually it costs $10-15 more but provides way more performance.
