Try this:
'Finally, I updated the driver, unselected allowing the computer to turn off the device and turned the power manger performance to max then restarted my computer. That seemd to have fixed it and now I don't have to return the computer because this is really the most annoying driver/software glitch ever!'
Another person said this:
'And there we have it. I made a LinuxLive USB with Kubuntu 12.10. Booted it and tried my homenetwork staight away. Connection fine, INTERNET WORKING! The hardware is fine. So, the conclusion is....Its a Windows/driver/application problem. Now I have to find this problem... Any ideas are appriciated. '

Try this third one and see if makes a difference:
'I finally got around to solving the problem on my G580
1. DEVICE MANAGER
2. Find the broadcom driver there
3. right click, "Update Driver Software"
4. Done!
PS: I had already installed the Wifi Driver (CyberTan, Liteon) for Microsoft Windows 8 (32-bit, 64-bit), i don't really know if that is relevant to the problem being resolved or not. Give it a shot! '
