Is intel core i7 990x still beast

hi everybody. i have a choice to buy new intel core i7 990x for 70$. i want to know that is this cpu still beast? i want to play new games with high-very high graphics at 1080p 60fps. my new gpu is evga gtx 960 ssc 2gb. please help me about this. thanks.

Is it still top of the line? No, but it is still pretty powerful. It would be rare that it would bottleneck a 2gb gtx 960.

Its not a bad chip, will be fine with something of the 960 level. Its far from the high end now though.

i want to know can it handle 1080p 60fps gaming with gtx 960 or gtx 660sli without any problem? my cooler will be cooler master hyper 212 evo and i can also overclock it to 4ghz.

Yeah overclocked to 4ghz it should be able to use the 960 at full potential, so check the benchmarks for the 960.
