The motherboard is merely the platform you build your computer on. Once you know what CPU you want to use, the memory, and possibly overclocking, then you get a motherboard that supports that and you're set. In your case you have a dual core, this is your big limitation in newer games. That's why I don't think a 1060 is perfect for you. You will be paying money for performance you won't get in many games. There are games that don't use the CPU so much, those games the 1060 will be perfect for you, I assume you are using a 1080p monitor.
So the games you want to play will determine if this is perfect or not.
