Is Intel Evo i5 better than i7? Which one would be best?

Hey Community,

It's my first post. I need some suggestions from you. I am a college student. I need to purchase a laptop for the purpose of working on projects and playing games. My old laptop is not working properly. I had Dell inspiron 4th generation i3. But now i am looking for best. My brother have suggested me Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Nano because he is using. He told me about the features. All though it seems quite impressive, I still want more suggestions and options.
I heard Intel EVO was trending. So I have searched some websites for this, like

evo is just a brand. meaningless.

Gaming wise your not going to get very far with intel's Xe graphics. you need a dedicated card.

What is your budget, screen size, what school projects and games do you like to play.

I personally run a Asus ROG Zephyrus G15, but also have used MSI GT line of laptops and like their stealth line as well.
