It should be fine especially, if you use the Optifine Mod.
I would upgrade the RAM though. Buy the following 4GB RAM stick for $22. The benefit of have 2 sticks of RAM is that the RAM will be operating at full speed rather than half speed. This can generally improve graphics performance by 5% - 10% depending on the game. Having more RAM means more of it can be used by the integrated graphics core if it needs it which can also improve performance.
It will play it at standard settings, but with amping the settings/modding it will be pretty stressed. I would get an AMD APU, the reduced single threaded performance is made up for by the much better iGPU.

Performance is going to depend on the specific AMD APU.
For example, both A8-6410 and A8-7410 APUs have integrated graphic cores that are weaker than the Intel HD 4000 graphics core.
Minecraft is a CPU intensive game so graphics isn't a huge requirement if your just playing windowed mode at standard resolution.
If you want to play any demanding game you will need a dedicated graphics card which can easily be put in a desktop computer if your motherboard has a PCI Express slot which is the long slot that runs horizontally below the CPU and RAM. There is usually one standard PCI slot (used for sound, wifi cards and such) which is half the size of a PCI Express slot.
Though you would need a powerful enough PSU for the GPU you want.
Integrated graphics = Office work, Youtube, Flash games
Dedicated graphics card = Main stream gaming at 60fps 1080p (depending on the card and graphical settings)
