Question Is it a bad idea to pair a Ryzen 2600 with a CM 500W PSU?

Hi everyone,

My question is basically what it says on title.
I'm upgrading my rig and I'm on a litttle tight budget. I've already purchased CPU, RAM and Mobo (Ryzen 2600, Corsair LPX 3200MHz and MSI B450M Bazooka), but I forgot to take into account the PSU.
Would it be bad to stick with my old PSU (Cooler Master Extreme Power Plus 500W) for some time until I can get a new one?
The rest of the setup is a GTX750ti, a 240GB SSD and a 640GB HDD.

Thanks for your help.

The R5 2600 is pretty low power, so is the GTX 750ti. You should be fine with that PSU for those bits. All I would say is that I'd probably leave the R5 at stock speeds for now, and if you plan on getting a more powerful graphics card in the future that would probably be the point where you should look at a better psu as well.

no it has the same tdp with ryzen 3 1200/2200 which is 65watt, you can also overclock it without problem, its depends on what gpu u use. since u are using gtx 750ti its not a problem, you can also still upgrade your gpu to gtx 760/960/1060.

Some time after my original post, I upgraded my rig with pretty much the same that I posted back then (R5 2600, Corsair Vengeance LPX 3000 16GB and a MSI B450m Bazooka Mobo) and keeping some old parts. Everything has been working fine.

Now I'm planning to upgrade my GPU to a 1660ti, along with the PSU. My question is, would a Corsair CX550M be OK to power my setup?
