Is it a bad idea to pour Canola Oil all over computer motherboard?

that's a pretty messy way to try and lower temps.



the only times i've ever heard of this was when somebody made the whole rig in an aquarium-type glass case and filled it with oil, the temps worked great, but the rig did only last a few weeks.

i think getting it "wet" would probably do no good, might not do any harm, but probably no good.
