I'm already going to be spending like $100 on a new processor, so I don't really want to spend over $100 on a new motherboard to go with it.

I know the gaming world is expensive, but I just want to know if it's alright to cheap out, and if it is, I will welcome any suggestions. If not, I suppose I will just suck it up and get the good motherboard.

Oh, and would this be a decent processor for gaming?

I'm not really worried about future games. I just like to mod the hell out of games when I play them, and this tends to take a toll on my hardware's abilities.

I'm actually serious this time, so answers are appreciated.

Thats not a good cpu, get the fx 6300 which is better. Also cheaper mobo doesnt mean bad mobo it just lacks some features to reduce the price.
I would suggest fx6300 for cpu and asus m5a97 r2.0/m5a78l m lxv3(cheaper than m5a97 r2.0 but cant oc cpu) for mobo.
