Question Is it bad if i set my hard disk to turn off after 2 minutes in Windows power plan ?

I'm currently using SSD for storing my Windows OS and other software, and i use an HDD for storing my static file like videos etc. The hard drive sound is bit annoying for me so i want to keep it off when not in use, is it bad for the hdd if i do that?

Setting it as low as 2 minutes is likely to increase wear and tear on the HDD since it will spin up and down more often compared to the default 20 minutes.

If the noise is annoying I would check if the drives support AAM (automatic acoustic management), you'll lose some performance (especially in seek times) but reduce noise.
If for whatever reasons replacing it with another SSD is not an option, that might be your best bet.

Thats a lot of start/stop cycles.

Check your mount screw tightness.
Possibly consider some insulatiing material, to reduce any potential vibration.

I wouldn't and don't, it will increase wear on the drive.
