Is it bad to plug the DC connecter in last

I have a gaming laptop and I leave the charger plugged in still to the wall even if I'm not using it. So after all that time static charge builds up into the DC connecter so when its time for me to plug it in the laptop I hear a loud static shock. Is this bad for the laptop?

Yes, static can make things go snap, crackle, pop 😉
