I tried to preposition my heatsink a few times, and after i applied thermal paste, i didn't boot my computer to turn it on to loosen the paste a bit, so what i did was just pull my pump off with a little bit of force. My cpu was obviously not on the heatsink, but will it damage my pins if i just pull using a little bit of force? I tried to gently remove it, but the way my pump screws in is that i need to remove the pump first before i could try to wiggle it around, so there was no option to wiggle the pump around.

the CPU should be held down by the ZIF mechanism, so you should be ok as long as that's in place. you might be able to apply a soldering iron brieflly to the heat sink to warm up the paste just a bit if needed (just enough to warm the paste and not heat the cpu)

Yeah i mean i tried to pull it off directly from the top. Like i didin''t obviously put my whole back into ripping it off. I just used a moderate amount of force to hear a ''pop'' where the paste was stuck in between to come off.
