Is it bad to run a i3-2120 at 3.4 ghz

Hi, I have a i3-2120 and on a ASUS P8z68v-LX board and the board automatically set the bclk speed to 103 instead of 100. Should I be worried about heat or anything with that set higher? Or is it never going to hurt anything? Then finally is that little extra speed going to help performance at all?

No I don't think it'll affect heat too much Nor do I think you'll gain a LOT of performance, but you'll certainly get a VERY small boost (I doubt you'll be able to notice it) but there's no harm 😀.

Pcie Slots don't like it at all, don't even risk it. You can fry your board and other things.

Overall you gain about 100MHz in CPU speed which is more or less not noticeable unless you are looking at benchmark numbers. A 103MHz BCLK is not very dangerous, but you might as well lower it down to 100MHz just in case...
