Is it bad or dumb to use a TV as a gaming Monitor?

No, obviously you face the disadvantage of pixel density on larger screen but that is'nt a problem at the distance you should be using a tv at

It's not dumb, it's just a personal choice, some people like to lay on smaller screens, some people on bigger screens, but you may not be able to see everything that's happening on the screen if it's too big

The only problem is that a TV is not designed for gaming so might have quite a high response time though this will depend on the make and model.
