Honestly right now it doesn't even matter that much. I'm not sure there is even a dual 16x for the z97, there is for x99 but even then it won't make that large of a difference. Right now bandwidth isn't really the bottleneck, its the gpu processing.

Asus z97-A SLI. It's pretty cheap and supports SLI and overclocking, and no useless features that cost more.

If you want a motherboard that looks cool look at ASROCK Fatal1ty line, ROG Hero, Gigabyte G1 Gaming, or MSI Gaming series. They are all under 300
