Is it better to leave the PC on 24/7 or not?

Solution
That is kind of a trick question.

Pro's to keep it on - It keeps the computer at temperature and ready to go. This prevents contracting and expansion of parts, more specifically on the soldered connections. However, the Con is that it is harder on the power supply to keep it going consistently without the power supply getting a break. It also is harder on the fans, which are constantly running.

Pro's to power down - The whole computer gets a "break" and cools down. It also saves power. The Con is that this causes contracting of the heated components, and eventually causes wear over years of cycling on and off.

As far as whether to keep it on or not, it is really a matter of preference, as any wear would take years to show, and...
Is it keeping your food cold and your frozen food frozen, running the heat and air, collecting camera footage of snoops at the door, only clock in the house, running a server? If not, then why would you find it necessary to leave it on all the time?

You have the ability to put your PC to sleep. Saves power usage and continual being on 24/7 is not necessary, if your not there.
No damage whatsoever to put the PC to sleep.
When some programs have been installed or Windows has been updated, then the system should be rebooted.

Of course not, lol, but I meant in terms of the PC itself, whether it's good for it leaving it on 24/7 or not.

If you do keep it on, I suggest rebooting every 2-3 days to clear out the memory and get the benefit of a "cold" boot.
