Is it better to Run Crossfire on A RX480 or A RX480 with a GTX 1060

Solution

Like I said 1 game supports it (Ashes of the Singularity) and it requires the game developer to implement the feature. At this point its a great idea but remains to be seen if developers support it or not. I would definitely not make a purchase decision based upon that feature, because its possible only a few titles will ever support it.
You cannot use an RX 480 with a GTX 1060 except for with newer DirectX 12 titles that support multi graphics. Right now only 1 game Ashes of the Singularity supports it and I would NOT make purchasing decisions based on this feature, as it needs to be implemented in game, so devs may well never use it.

Pairing the 2 cards for older titles does nothing, it doesn't work.

But aren't DirectX 11 titles better on Geforce Cards

And AMD Cards Valken and DirectX 12.

The Only Games i Plan to Play on These Cards are Titanfall 1&2, GTA 5, COD, Older PC Games, and Skyrim.

Im Think of Compatablity (Frame rates Wise). Like if i start Buying Games that Support DX12 would the RX 480 be better. Or The GTX 1060 for the older titles That are better on DX11 (like my Current Games minus Titanfall 2).

Or Will Crossfire be better overall.

If you had the money to crossfire 2 x 480's then you should just be buying a gtx 1070 in the first place.

twin card (sli or crossfire) setups are never ever the best solution when buying in the first place.
Always ( & I do mean always ) buy the best card single card you can afford.

Correct at this point DX 11 titles work a bit better on Nvidia cards, but The performance is not different enough to be worth spending the money and running a second card for them. Its very minor differences.

If you want to spend $400 you are far better served buying a GTX 1070, Crossfire doesn't work on all titles, and can be a PITA, and having 2 different cards is clunky and unmanageable. For the same price you can get 1 card that blows them both away in DX11 and DX12

Which for Me is Either RX480 or GTX 1060

Like one RX480 now and another 480 later.

But is there any advantage down the Line with MDA or is it too early know anything yet about performance benefits of it?
