Hello,
I have an inspiron 3521 with the following specification:
Intel 3rd generation core i3 cpu: HD 4000
AMD Radeon HD 7670m
I have never had any problem with the Dell supported drivers.
My problem is that newer Flash content stutters.
Youtube videos show horizontal tears at 1080p.
Same is or VLC, GOM, etc.
This did not happen back in 2013 or 2014.
Ps: NFS Rivals and mw performance is same as before and is playable at medium settings.
I have reinstalled the OS(Win 7 64bit) and all the software is updated( including Gom, Flash; etc).
So I was hoping to solve this problem by updating to the latest graphics drivers from Dell website.
But all the system drivers by Dell were last updated on 13 September 2013.
While Intel has newer drivers as of 2015. Also the latest AMD Catalyst Control Drivers are out.
Same is for Realtek, etc.
The problem with newer AMD drivers is that all my colleagues who installed this driver faced problems with switchable graphics: In the sense that they could run only a few application on the dedicated graphics card.In my case, I can run any application on any card (like flash plugin for chrome etc). Also it shifts the application on the power saving card on battery and (as performance is choppy, while mine is fine for old games).
Sorry for such a long question.
So I was hoping if you could answer my question that is it better to use updated Generic drivers or stay with those provided to you by your device manufacturer?
